During the demand research phase, the technical team of Peitian Robot learned that the client had concerns over the robot’s cycle time and operational stability. Furthermore, as this was an existing production line retrofitting project, the working space for the robots was relatively limited. Considering the on-site conditions, customer requirements and cost-effectiveness, the technical team recommended an AIR15-950/4 robot for the project. Designed specifically for the PCB board handling process, this model features a proprietary trajectory planning algorithm for cycle time optimization, with a maximum throughput of 12 pcs/min. Meanwhile, its compact structure makes it ideal for deployment in confined spaces.

Furthermore, the technical team of Peitian Robot assisted the manufacturing enterprise in making multiple innovations to the implementation plan to ensure optimal operational performance. To meet the cleanliness requirements of the production environment and prevent airborne particles generated during the operation, the technical team customized a protective suit for the robot. Extensive validation of the robot mounting position and end-effector selection was conducted to minimize thepick-and-place travel distance. Combined with 2D vision inspection technology,a board shaking process is applied to the materials, effectively preventing workpiece adhesion.

After the renovation, the workstation achieved a stable cycle time of 11–12 pcs/min. When operating in dual-robot coordination, the efficiency further increased to 14–15 pcs/min. This completely resolved the capacity shortage caused by frequent downtime of the old equipment, significantly improving both the overall production line efficiency and product quality consistency.

To date, the PCB manufacturer has deployed dozens of Peitian robots in production, with plans to further expand cooperation in the future.
